My Diary – Understanding and Connecting Medicine
Sunday, September 20th, 2015Last week I was reading a compilation of the History of Medicine by Robert E Greenspan. The evolution of medicine in last 3,000 years was quite fascinating where the artists and painters played a key role in disseminating knowledge about human body and its anatomy.
The twentieth century brought in the critical difference in our lives. It is estimated that the world population reached 1 billion for the first time in the year 1804. It was another 123 years before it reached 2 billion in 1927, but it took only 33 years to reach 3 billion in 1960. Thereafter, the global population reached 4 billion in 1974, 5 billion in 1987, 6 billion in 1999 and, according to the United States Census Bureau, it was 7 billion by March 2012. It is taking less than 15 years to add a billion to the human population.
Obviously, research, innovation and surgical expertise in medicine can take substantial credit of it.
Medicine has mastered the art of physical body completely. It understands the functions of body parts, the tissues supporting the body parts, the structure and functions of cells, the function of each element of cell, understood the nucleus within cell, the DNA and then the structure of DNA itself – a phenomenal understanding of the complete human body.
We must say hats off to all the human community involved in the advancement of medicine for human race.
Expectations grow with achievements
On other front, latest research in medicine are attributing few diseases to emotional state of the human. Eckhart Tolle has written substantially on the role of Ego or Hurt on the functioning of the body parts; the role of emotions is very well described in the Budhist philosophy as well. This becomes the Second Plane of the research in understanding the relationship of body parts and emotions.
On the Third Plane, there are many sciences like ‘Pranic healing’ , ‘Reiki’, etc that give importance to the energy field of human body or aura. Dr. Barbara Ann Brennan has written many theories about the impact of energy fields on health. Also, the modern western research is now acknowledging the impact of waves of mobiles phones on the human body.
Through this post I want all my friends to understand that as per the above writings, there are three planes of knowledge – Physical Body, Emotional Body and Energy Body. Therefore, my question is what are the efforts happening in the world to connect three planes of knowledge i.e., Physical Body, Emotional body and Energy field for next set of advancements in Medicine.
I believe the connected 3-plane research will bring some fundamental shift in the way medicine of twenty-first century is evolving.
